HOT ART '09, June 10 - 14, Basel, Switzerland- At the art world's annual rendezvous in Basel, HOT ART stands out as the fair showcasing new art from emerging artists from around the globe, most of whom will be presenting their work for the first time in Basel.

HOT ART is a best of collection of contemporary art from a group of 17 international artists of distinction selected by the fair as well as some 90 artists chosen by 20 leading art galleries from around the globe.

The buzz around HOT ART is that it is not merely new work from the familiar suspects, but rather provides a rich opportunity for collectors, curators, artists, critics and art lovers to discover the work of emerging contemporary artists.

Artists

A body of sculpture, photographs, video installations and time-based art on view at HOT ART is by 17 artists from Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Japan, Germany, the U.S. and Europe. The curated "Artist's Program" feautures emerging artists: Michael von Hassel, Michelle Rogers, Ulises Gonzalez, Claudio Castillo, Jacques Limousin, Angela Marie Hoener, Paco Guillen and Hermés Berrio, amongst others.

A pastiche of global galleries will also showcase work from an additional 90 artists: Bubi Canal, Rubén Echavarria, Jorge Mayet, Marina R. Vargas, Ismael Mundaray, Ushio Shinohara, Krzysztof Sroda, Sofie Muller, Raul Hevia, Santiago Idanez, Harald Fernagu, Luciano Goizueta, Stefan-Thiel-Ben, Emilio Said, Omar Torres, Javier Rodriguez, Arian Dylan, Martin y Sicilia, Erika Harrsh, Dr. Lakra, amongst others.

Major installations from artists Duvier del Dago, Humberto Diaz, Maauad and Raymundo Sesma will also be on display outside HOT ART's main building. A complete list of artists and links to their bios and work is available at
